New Student Checklist
Welcome to Madonna University! We're excited to have you join our community. To ensure
a smooth transition, we've created this comprehensive checklist outlining the key
steps you'll need to take.
Follow these guidelines to stay on track and prepare for your first semester. If you
have any questions along the way, our dedicated staff is here to assist you.
January – April
- File the FAFSA – studentaid.gov
- Attend Admitted Student Day
- Set up your Madonna Log In and email – This gives you access to your Madonna email, your MY Portal, and many university services. Refer to the email you received from no-reply@madonna.edu
titled "Your Online Tools at Madonna University." If you need assistance, please contact
the IT Help Desk at helpdesk@madonna.edu or 734-432-5800.
May
June
- Attend Orientation, where you will:
- Check your email for information from Financial Aid:
- You may need to turn in documents or accept your awards.
- Financial Aid has a separate log in from your MyPortal. You will create your account
once Financial Aid emails you – MY Financial Aid
- Request your final high school transcript from your school before they leave for the summer to show you have graduated.
July
- Attend Orientation if you could not attend in June.
- Complete any remaining items for Financial Aid.
- Choose your Madonna One Card refund preference. Your card should arrive within 3 weeks after Orientation.
August
- Open and review your first bill from Madonna.
Make a plan to decide if you will need to use loans, a payment plan, or if your financial
aid funds will cover your balance.
