Starting at a new university is a big transition, whether you are coming to us directly from high school, transferring from another institution, or beginning your college career later in life. For this reason, we require that all new students complete an orientation prior to beginning at the University.
There are several steps you should take to prepare for the Fall 2021 semester. We will be communicating the process to RSVP for New Student Orientation and the New Student Checklist to our new students soon. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
This program is specifically for students who are coming to Madonna right from high school or home school environments. Students coming to Madonna University directly from high school are part of our First-Year Experience program, which guides them through a series of events intended to ease the transition to the University. Students are required to attend an orientation program during the summer prior to starting at the institution.
We are currently working to provide students a robust orientation program that will combine both in-person and online components, to best ensure safety and social-distancing. Students will be scheduling classes individually with our Academic Advising team prior to attending Orientation.
On-ground Orientation will work to connect you to the Madonna campus, help you meet new classmates, and connect with on-campus resources, faculty, and staff. Our FYE Peer Mentors (students who have successfully completed at least one year at Madonna already) will spend the day with you and lead you through the program. At orientation, you will be introduced to our wide range of academic, social, and service-learning opportunities. You also will learn about other First-Year events and programs designed to answer your questions and help you achieve academic success.
Once you RSVP for an on-ground Orientation date, you will be sent a link to complete a self-guided online Orientation. This will be required to complete before attending your on-ground Orientation day. This will include great information for you regarding on-campus resources, the campus community, student life, and Madonna's mission/history.
All new students are required to attend an on-ground, interactive Orientation. During New Student Orientation, you will attend sessions that familiarize you with Madonna University's Campus.
Currently, we have the below dates scheduled for New Student Orientation for our direct from high school students starting in Fall 2021.

Once you RSVP for Orientation, you'll receive an email with instructions for completing the Online Orientation and your Writing Assessment. Upon completing those two steps, your Success Coach will email you to set up a 1:1 advising appointment to schedule your classes.
We cannot wait to welcome you to campus!
As you begin this new chapter of your life, the support of loved ones can help ensure your success. We are pleased to be able to bring parents and guardians to campus in July and August. These sessions will include information from Campus Safety, Housing and Residence Life, the Dean of Students Office, Financial Aid and more. These will be excellent opportunities for them to learn how to best support you during this exciting period of transition!
Parents/Family members can RSVP for one of the below on-campus informational sessions:
Adult and Transfer Students have two options to cover the requirement of attending orientation:
We tailor our Adult and Transfer Student Orientation program to your needs. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions, connect with other students, and learn about campus resources. Take advantage of this time to become familiar with our campus, academic advisors, financial aid officers, student life representatives, career services, and other Madonna staff who are available to help you.
Adult and Transfer Student Orientation sessions are scheduled on an individual basis. Please contact our office at email@example.com to set up your personal session!
If you prefer to complete orientation from the comfort of your home, you can complete our convenient online orientation! Two weeks after you have been admitted to the University you will receive your My Portal/Blackboard login information from the Registrar's office through the mail. This will include your student ID number. You will need to sign in to our orientation program using your first and last name, and your student ID number.
The online orientation program can be accessed at this link: TRANSFER ORIENTATION
If you have questions concerning the online orientation please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
