How do I apply?

Students can either complete our online application for undergraduate admissions or apply through the Common App. 

What are the eligibility requirements for admission?

Direct from high school students looking to begin their first year of college can find our eligibility requirements on the First-Year Admissions page, and transfer students can find our eligibility requirements on the Transfer Admissions page. 

Do I need to take the ACT or SAT to be admitted? 

Madonna University remains test-optional, although some programs do require ACT or SAT scores for admittance. 

When is the application deadline, and are there any other important dates I should know about when applying? 

There is no application deadline, however, we encourage students to get their applications completed 2-3 weeks prior to the start of the term they intend to enroll in, so they can register for classes and get their textbooks and course materials in time for the start of the term. 

Are AP classes and Dual Enrollment accepted at Madonna?

Yes, AP and IB classes are accepted, as well as dual enrollment credits. 

What materials do I need to submit with my application?

After completing the online application, students must submit an official high school transcript (after graduation with graduation date posted), or a high school equivalency certificate, homeschool completion verification, or IB transcript. Students must also submit an essay, ACT/SAT scores if applicable, AP test scores if applicable, ACE or military transcripts if applicable, and dual enrollment/ college transcripts if applicable. 

International applicants and transfer applicants should be sure to review additional requirements for admission. 

What factors are considered when making admissions decisions?

At Madonna, we take into account many factors when considering students for admission, reviewing each applicant holistically to ensure they are best-fit to succeed in our community. This includes the assessment of academic-achievement, personal statement, desired program of study, extracurricular involvement, and service involvement. 

How will I know if I'm admitted, and what are the possible application decisions students can receive? 

You'll receive an email with an update to your application status. You could be admitted or denied. 

How do I pay my deposit, and how much is it?

The enrollment/ housing deposit is $250, which can be paid on your application status page. 

What programs does Madonna University offer?

We offer many programs that will lead students into service-oriented careers. You can browse our programs and learn more about each on the Program Finder. 

Are academic advising and other support resources available to students?

Yes! We offer many student support services including academic advising, counseling and accessibility services, first-year experience, a tutoring center, writing center, peer mentoring, and many others. 

How do I know what classes I need to take and what my degree requirements are?

Your Success Coach will provide you with a four-year plan of study and go over the degree requirements for your degree program. This typically happens during your first semester for students coming to Madonna directly from high school or homeschool, and in your first appointment for transfer students. 

What are Madonna's transfer credit policies and are there any articulation agreements?

Students interested in transferring to Madonna University can review their completed coursework at their current institution as well as AP and IB courses to evaluate potential transferable credits through our course equivalencies guide.

Madonna University has partnered with many two year colleges to increase the ease of transfer between the two institutions through established articulation agreements and transfer guides. Articulation agreements and transfer guides outline a clear pathway for applicants to transfer credit to Madonna University and are reviewed on a regular basis to reflect the most accurate and up-to-date course listings.

How much does tuition cost?

The most up-to-date tuition information can be located on the Tuition and Fees page. 

What scholarships are available to me?

Students are awarded a merit scholarship at the time of admission based on their high school or cumulative transfer GPA. Additional scholarships are available for students involved in athletics, performing arts, and Mosaic Leadership Academy. There are also need-based awards available. All students receiving scholarships must submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). 

What kind of financial aid is available to me?

There are many different kinds of financial aid available to students who qualify. Additional information can be located on our Additional Scholarships & Awards webpage. Does Madonna have a work study program or other student employment opportunities?

Yes! All students are eligible to work on-campus, whether they qualify for Federal Work Study funds or not. More information about Federal Work Study and on-campus employment can be found on our Federal Work Study and Career Development pages. 

Does Madonna require students to live on campus?

All undergraduate students who are U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residents and those International Students who have an approved immigrant or non-immigrant visa not specifically issued for education purposes, whose primary U.S. residence is outside the geographical boundaries located on the Madonna University Live-On Requirement Map, must reside on campus and purchase a meal plan for their first and second full academic year.

When does the housing application become available?

For students starting in the Fall semester, the housing application usually becomes available in March. For students starting in  the Winter semester, the housing application usually becomes available in October. 

How many residence halls does Madonna have?

Madonna has four residence halls on campus: Angela Hall, Felix Hall, Clare Hall, and Francis Hall. 

Are students living on campus required to purchase a meal plan?

Yes, students living on campus are required to purchase a meal plan, however, there are several different options for both students living on-campus and commuter students to purchase a meal plan that fits their budget and lifestyle. What are the dining options on campus?

Madonna offers a full-service cafeteria as well as the Take Five Lounge, which is located on the main level of the Academic Building. 

What kinds of student organizations does Madonna have to offer?

Madonna University has student organizations that are related to majors, service opportunities, and other shared interests. 

What kinds of things can the Office of Career Development help students with?

The Office of Career Development offers assistance in finding internships, on-campus student employment opportunities, as well as part or full-time employment positions, among other services. These services are free and available to all students. 

Do I have to attend orientation?

Yes, orientation is an overnight experience that is required for direct from high school students and homeschooled students to attend. There is an optional orientation for transfer students. 

How diverse is Madonna, and is diversity a priority on campus?

Is there religious diversity on campus?

Yes, and students do not need to be Catholic to attend Madonna University. Students of all faiths are can come together around the University's mission, the Franciscan values, and service with others. 

What is Madonna's graduation rate?

Madonna University's graduation rate is 49% for full-time, first-time students who graduated in 6 years or less. The national average is 46.43%.
