Commencement

• Parking: Parking will be available at the ceremony venue at the Alliance Catholic Credit Union Arena at Performing Arts, Academics and Athletics Center (PAAAC). There is also a short walking path from main campus should you chose to use it. Due to the number of anticipated guests, please plan your trip accordingly. You will be expected to follow all directives of parking staff. There is no charge for parking in either event space. 
• Traffic: Due to several on-going construction projects occurring near the Commencement Ceremony venue, we encourage you to plan your trip accordingly.  Please be prepared for considerable delays and extended wait times due to these on-going  construction projects. American Sign Language interpreters will be on-site for all Commencement ceremonies. Deaf and hard of hearing attendees should notify a staff usher upon arrival to be seated in view of the interpreters.

Limited Mobility Seating will be situated closer to entrance of the venue and is available on a first come, first serve basis.  Requests for Limited Mobility Seating must be requested by the graduating student when securing tickets for commencement.  More information will be posted here when available.

Ceremony Times:

• Thursday, May 14, at 11am – School of Business
• Thursday, May 14, at 4pm – College of Arts and Sciences
• Friday, May 15, at 11am – College of Education and Human Development
• Friday, May 15, at 4pm – College of Nursing and Health

Doors open one hour prior to the start of each Commencement ceremony. 

Graduates should arrive and have regalia on one (1) hour before the start time in order to be placed in the processional line-up.

Students are expected to remain for the entire ceremony and should plan to be present from the time they arrive to check-in until the end of the ceremony.

Graduates should arrive at the ceremony venue, dressed in their regalia.  If you pre-ordered regalia prior to the deadline, you will receive an email from the Spirit Store notifying you when your regalia is ready for pick-up.  If you did not pre-order regalia, the Spirit Store will have regalia available for purchase on a first come, first serve basis. Please note that new regalia this year does not feature the Madonna University emblem.  If graduates have borrowed regalia from a previous year’s graduate that does contain the Madonna University emblem, graduates will be permitted to wear that regalia during the ceremony. Please email madonna@slingshotedu.com with any regalia related questions you may have.

Please refer to the videos on the Academic Regalia page for how to wear your hood and tassel. Comfortable shoes are a must and we suggest that all graduates wear flats.

We anticipate each ceremony lasting between one hour to 90 minutes.

Students are expected to remain for the entire ceremony and should plan to be present from the time they arrive to check-in until the end of the ceremony.

**Note that due to circumstances beyond our control, the duration of the ceremony may be longer or shorter than anticipated.

A professional photographer will take photos of each graduate walking across the stage. The graduate will receive information about ordering those photos from the professional photographer following Commencement.
