TRIO Program

TRIO is a student-focused office where resources and support are readily accessible for those who qualify. Aligning with the Felician and Franciscan values of Madonna University, the mission of TRIO is to cultivate a supportive learning environment by providing intentional support that empowers students to become confident and successful learners. 

For 44 years, the Center for Personalized Instruction has also been home to the Student Support Services TRIO program, a federally grant-funded program designed to increase the college retention and graduation rates of 170 students each year. Eligible participants must be a citizen or national of the United States or meet the residency requirements for federal student financial assistance; enrolled at Madonna University; pursuing their first bachelor’s degree; and meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Demonstrates financial need (based on federal income guidelines)
  • First-generation college student (neither parent has earned a bachelor's degree); or
  • Have a documented disability

Interested in becoming part of TRIO?

Complete the TRIO application, or obtain an application by visiting the TRIO office in room 2300. Applications should be submitted to TRIO as soon as possible, as the number of spaces available is limited. Students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the program is full.
