LIVONIA, MICH. – In the fall of 2023, Victor Lauria, assistant professor and chair of the criminal justice program, earned certification as a National Certified Instructor through the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST). The mission of IADLEST is to support the innovative development of professional standards in public safety through research, development, collaboration and sharing of information, and to assist states and international partners with establishing effective and defensible standards for the employment and training of public safety personnel. Lauria is one of fewer than 200 people to have earned this national certification.
