Sister Rose Marie Kujawa to lead book discussion on race and racial injustice

Book cover for CASTE by Isabel Wilkerson

President Emerita Sr. Rose Marie Kujawa and other members of the Franciscan Federation will facilitate book discussions, via Zoom, of Caste, by Isabel Wilkerson. This is a unique opportunity for prayer, study, dialogue, and discussion on racial injustice. Wilkerson’s book provides a guide to race and racial brutality in the U.S., told through the allegory of caste, the latter viewed as the skeleton under the flesh of black-white relationships in the 400-year history of what became the U.S.

Caste—The Origins of Our Discontents is an eye-opening story of people and history, and a reexamination of what lies under the surface of ordinary lives and of American life today.

Sr. Rose Marie book discussion group will meet via Zoom on the following Wednesdays: February 2, 9, and 16, at 7 p.m. EST.

Information about the discussion sessions and the Registration Form is at the Franciscan Federation Book Discussion Series website.

Each book discussion group is limited to 12 participants. An email confirmation with the Zoom link will be sent the day before the session. Copies of CASTE by Isabel Wilkerson are available at your local bookstore or online.
