Madonna Athletics to Build Patrick Moore Memorial Press Box

Patrick Moore

LIVONIA, MICH. – Fundraising for the Patrick Moore Memorial Press Box is complete. Thanks to private donations, funds raised at four Patrick Moore Memorial Golf Outings, and University support, the University soon will begin to erect the press box at the Madonna Athletic Complex soccer/lacrosse field at the corner of Newburgh and 5 Mile Roads.

The Press Box will honor Patrick Moore, Madonna alumnus class of 2003, and former Crusaders sports information director (SID). In the nine years that Moore spent at Madonna, he gave his heart to Madonna athletics; the athletes, coaches, and fans. His hard work and talent as a sports information director were recognized with the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Mike Dean SID of the Year award. He was the first, three-time recipient of the award. In 2015, at age 36, Moore was called from this world, and the stunned Madonna community looked for a way to memorialize him, thus the Press Box.

To honor Moore and his legacy, the Press Box will be everything he would have wanted so that current and future sports information directors can efficiently do their job.

“We are thrilled to finally be in a position to build this press box that will stand in Pat’s memory,” said Noel Emenhiser, Madonna athletics director and long-time friend of Moore. “We are grateful for the many contributions from Pat’s family, all of his friends and colleagues, and the Madonna community who have been determined to arrive at this day.”

The upcoming Crusaders Classic golf outing, Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, at Whispering Willows Golf Course in Livonia, Mich., will be raising funds for a student-athlete lounge for study sessions and team meetings.
