LIVONIA, MICH. – A couple of months ago, Madonna University Head Football Coach Herb Haygood was approached by Dr. Lanny Johnson, an orthopedic surgeon from Okemos, Mich., who wanted to make an in-kind gift of 3,360 canisters (160 wipes each) of Dr. J's Surface Disinfectant Wipes from QYK Brand. The wipes, made with Johnson's patented disinfectant formula, are EPA registered surface disinfectant wipes proven effective against SARS-CoV2 that causes Covid-19, and 46 other micro-organisms.
Haygood contacted Tom Laabs, assistant director of development, and they made arrangements to accept the gift, valued at $33,566, and to spread the wealth with other Felician Ministries, churches, and community service organizations in the metro Detroit area.
Pictured here are some of the deliveries made to the 14 ministries that benefited from Dr. Johnson's generous gift. Above, delivering the canisters of wipes to St. Charles Lwanga Parish, are Coach Haygood (front left) with members of his team and coaching staff, along with Jesse Cox, director of campus ministry, and Mercedes Williams, graduate assistant (front center).
