Madonna University's Men's Basketball Makes History in NAIA Tournament

LIVONIA, MICH. – Madonna University's Men's Basketball team, the Crusaders, had a Cinderella run in the NAIA National Tournament, reaching the Sweet Sixteen for the first time in program history. Despite falling to the defending national champions, the College of Idaho Coyotes, 87-65, the Crusaders achieved several milestones this season: 

  • Most regular-season wins (23) and conference wins (19) in program history
  • First-ever regular-season conference champions
  • Hosted the NAIA National Tournament Opening Rounds for the first time
  • Won the second and third NAIA National Tournament games in school history

Looking ahead, the Crusaders return key players, including all-conference selections Brendan Young, Isaac Anderson, and Matthew MacLellan. With a core group of experienced players, the Crusaders look to repeat their postseason success next season.
