LIVONIA, MICH. – Michael Tibbits '16 (Criminal Justice and Theology), went on to earn a juris doctorate at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. After passing the Bar Exam, he worked as an associate at Wilson Elser before making a unique career move - joining the United States Marine Corps. After graduating from Officer Candidate School and The Basic School, he graduated from the Naval Justice School where he became certified to practice as a military attorney. Currently a Marine Corps captain, Tibbits serves as a defense attorney at Camp Lejeune, in Jacksonville, N.C. His Madonna experience was life-changing, distinguished with baseball championships and impactful professors such as Monica Miller, Victor Lauria, Stephen Boak, and Deepinder Uppal. Tibbits acknowledged that the support of these faculty members and their belief in him influenced his career path from law firm attorney to Marine Corps captain and defense attorney.
