Alumna’s Second Degree Leads to Career in Education Administration

LIVONIA, MICH. – Like many Madonna alumni, Lauren Nobles has multiple degrees from her alma mater. Unlike some whose bachelor’s and master’s degrees are in related fields, Nobles earned her degrees in unrelated areas. After earning a Bachelor of Business Administration (hospitality management) in 2012, she worked in the industry for several years. She returned to Madonna to earn a master’s degree in higher education administration in 2019 and gained valuable experience working in Madonna’s Offices of Student Affairs and Admissions.

She now uses her accumulated knowledge in a rewarding position as director of admissions at Eton Academy, a private independent K-12 school for students who learn differently.

Nobles appreciated her time as a Madonna student and noted that her undergraduate and graduate experiences could not have been more different.

“As an undergrad, I was a commuter and a transfer student with personal responsibilities that made it harder for me to be involved in campus life,” she recalled. “My program was amazing, and through my classes, I connected with all types of students, some of whom I still keep in contact with today!”

When pursuing her graduate degree, she took a different approach.  “I took the opportunity to immerse myself in campus life despite being a mom and wife,” she explained. “I saw how much I missed in my undergrad experience at Madonna, and because I wanted to work in the higher education field, it felt right to do all that I could to find the right place for me to build my career.”

Graduate school was life-changing for Nobles. The practicum courses helped her discover her passions and gifts. “If not for Madonna, I know I would not be where I am today!”

Nobles currently serves as the President of Madonna’s Alumni Board.
