Chase Dobbie speaking at the business conference

LIVONIA, MICH. – Last week, the School of Business hosted its annual Business Student Conference in the Welcome Center, attracting a significant number of attendees. Business students had the opportunity to network with alumni from Madonna University and to hear from Dean Jessica Cummings, along with other university administrators.

The keynote address was delivered by Chase Dobbie, a 2016 Business Administration alumnus and co-founder of func.media, a Canada-based company established in 2017. Dobbie discussed the digital marketing landscape and shared insights into entrepreneurial strategies. He also co-founded Rolo-Golf, which contributed to func.media receiving the "emerging brand of the year" award in 2021, alongside TikTok and Cazoo. Dobbie emphasized the importance of pursuing one's passion and engaged with students following his presentation.

The conference included a panel featuring alumni entrepreneurs, moderated by Kellen Burke, a December 2024 graduate. Panelists included Don McLean, '07, '09, Cristina Paglia '19, Isaac St. John '10, and Eric Wright '13. They discussed their experiences in starting businesses and emphasized the significance of authenticity and community impact.

In addition to the discussions, students participated in networking opportunities, had professional headshots taken, engaged in LinkedIn strategy sessions with Don McLean, and consulted with Jennifer (Kennedy) Stokes on resume building and career development.
