Matt received an undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and continued on to complete a graduate degree in Humane Studies (now Non-Profit Leadership) two years later, both from Madonna University. Upon completion of his masters, he quickly found a home at the Detroit Zoological Society helping to pursue the Zoo's mission of wildlife conservation, animal welfare, and providing unique educational experiences that lead to the appreciation and stewardship of nature. "Madonna University and the Humane Studies program helped to prepare me in so many ways for my career. Topics that deal with the operations of non-profit organizations, environmental sustainability, animal welfare, and more, have developed my knowledge about so many topics. I can't think of a single class that hasn't provided me with the knowledge and experience necessary to be knowledgeable and succeed in my goals," he said. "The intimate class sizes, fantastic instructors, religious base, and genuine support was invaluable to me and provided a fulfilling educational experience that is irreplaceable," he said.

Dr. Domzalski is one of the co-designers of the M.S. in Non-Profit Leadership (previously Humane Leadership), and has taught in the program since its inception in 2012.
To his teaching and scholarship in humane leadership, Dr. Domzalski brings his educational background in psychology, theology, linguistics, and education.
His current research interests include religious views on animals and humane education.
Dr. Gatarek is one of the co-designers of the M.S. in Non-Profit Leadership (previously Humane Leadership). She has taught in this program since its inception in 2012. More recently she has assumed a role of its director.
To her teaching and scholarship, Dr. Gatarek brings her educational background in humane education, psychology, research methodology, and philosophy.
Her current research interests include humane education, anthrozoology, and research methods in social sciences.

Father Morris holds a full-time appointment in the Department of Religious Studies and Philosophy. In the M.S. in Non-Profit Leadership program he has has taught courses in environmental ethics and sustainability.
To his teaching and scholarship, Father Morris brings his educational background in urban studies, sociology, and theology.
His current research interests include sustainability and green justice.

Dr. Proctor has taught in the M.S. in Non-Profit Leadership (previously Humane Leadership) program since its inception in 2012.

Her current research interests include animals and human societies as well as working families and social justice.
