Join in the Forensic Fun!

The purpose of the Madonna University Forensic Science Society is to encourage interaction and networking between Madonna University students, alumni, and forensic science organizations within the local area. The MUFSS also hosts get-togethers, learning activities and opportunities for members to put their skills and Felician Values into service for the community. Students are eligible (and encouraged) to join once they are accepted and enrolled at Madonna.

The Importance of Student Membership in National/Regional Forensics Organizations

Joining a forensic science organization provides students an opportunity to interact with active members of the forensic science community, as well as to be exposed to the latest research in their chosen field. Student members have opportunities to attend symposia and training workshops, volunteer and interact with peers and working professionals throughout the world.

There tend to be two categories of forensic science organizations: those which serve a single forensic discipline (e.g., DNA analysis, latent fingerprint examination or forensic anthropology) and those which serve all forensic disciplines on a regional or national/international scale. The single-discipline organizations are generally restricted to those actively working in the field, whereas the multi-discipline organizations are very welcoming to student members, offering membership at significantly reduced rates.

It is suggested that forensic science students join a regional or national/international forensics organization at their earliest opportunity, and to become actively involved. The Forensic Science Department faculty at Madonna can assist you in choosing the best organization to match your career interests.
