Writing Center Extracurriculars
If you enjoyed the Ghost Writers/Researchers event (for the National Day on Writing/Research) on Tuesday, October 20 in the Take 5 Lounge mark your calendars for Wednesday, February 10 for the Paper Hearts Workshop. Librarians and tutors will be parked in the southwest corner of the Take 5 Lounge from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Besides working with you on your research and writing assignments, we'll offer the ever-popular "Write Your Own Love/Breakup Poem" workshop.
MU Voices, a literary blog, features poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, essays, song lyrics, academic assignments, satire, photography, and video links. Students, faculty, and staff are all invited to submit. Published fall and winter semesters.
You are also encouraged to comment on MU Voices submissions from Madonna University’s writers, artists, and photographers. Please share your support by adding your two cents to these creative works.

Open Mics was scheduled for Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Franciscan Gathering Space.
More than 20 students and staff attended Open Mic Night on Wednesday, April 1, in the Franciscan Gathering Space. We enjoyed comedy routines, songs, poetry, a live podcast, and excerpts from the most recent issue of MU Voices.
MLK Day Poetry Writing invites the Madonna community to write diversity-related poetry in the Take 5 Lounge on the afternoon of Martin Luther King Day. The event was sponsored by Student Life, the Office of Service-Learning, the Library, and the Writing Center.
Sticky Poetry Contest, held every summer, invites the Madonna community to submit any original poetry that can fit on a single Post-it Note. Poems are attached to a wall in the Writing Center and prizes are awarded for best poems.
