William J Kasperski

Dr. William J. Kasperski is an Associate Professor of Quantitative Systems in the School of Business. He joined the full-time faculty of Madonna University in 2007. He completed his doctoral degree in 1994 at Louisiana State University. He teaches in the areas of Statistics, Research Methods, Operations Management and Information Systems. His interests include applied statistics, personal financial planning, retirement planning, and quantitative research methods. He is actively engaged as the thesis advisor for MSBA students in the School of Business. His recent research includes evaluating municipal bond fund ratings for Michigan cities. Dr. William J. Kasperski has expertise in various statistical research methodologies, including: design of experiments, computer software applications, and marketing research. His favorite courses to teach include Applied Statistics and Research Methods.

Phillip Olla

Dr. Olla is an Information Technology (IT) specialist with over 20 years’ experience working at the leading edge of technology and innovation. He has also worked in the space, healthcare and Energy sectors. He has worked with a wide spectrum of organizations such as Oracle, 02 Telefónica UK, British Telecom, NASA, Roche Diagnostics, CLSA and International Renewable Corporation.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Information Technology and Chartered Engineer registered with British Engineering Council. Dr. Olla is the Director for the Center for Research and Professor of Management Information Systems at Madonna University in Michigan USA and visiting professor at Stanford University. He is a worldwide speaker with speaking engagements in Asia, Europe, Africa and USA with a focus on convergence of telecommunication and healthcare innovations and has presented extensively to the academic and scientific community. Dr. Olla has a PhD in Information Systems from Brunel University in the UK and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in journals, and authored 3 industry reports along with 7 book chapters and 3 books.
Research interest include, healthcare innovation, 3D printing and educational technology. His favorite course is Healthcare Data Mining.

Patricia A Pelavin

Patricia Pelavin, Ph.D. has been with Madonna University since 2006. In Fall 2011, she joined the School of Business as half-time faculty teaching Quantitative and Research courses. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from University of Michigan-Dearborn in Accounting, an MBA in Finance from Wayne State University and a Ph.D. in Evaluation and Research from Wayne State. She is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). The common thread in her academic background has been her love of data - working with it and making sense of it! She loves teaching Quantitative courses in the undergraduate business program and Research and Capstone courses in the graduate program.
Her academic interests include working with students in their development of applied business research projects, small business or entrepreneurial projects. She advises students in the MBA program and is also involved in the MSBA Executive Leadership program. Her own research has been in the area of entrepreneurship, small business development and quantitative methods. She is always eager to find new ways to use technology both in the classroom and in the pursuit of research. In addition, she is a member of several professional organizations and enjoys international travel.
